Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy for international economic cooperation Kiril Dmitryev said that he and Elon Musk will soon hold talks on space cooperation.
Dmitriyev, who is also the President of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, made statements to journalists in the capital Moscow.
Pointing out that Russia has much more rare earth elements than Ukraine, Dmitriyev said, “We can cooperate with the US and other countries on this issue. We are studying some rare earth element reserves and they are quite promising.”
Dmitriyev said that certain technologies are required to develop these reserves and that they are open to cooperation with the US in this regard.
Explaining that they can also cooperate with the US in the field of space, Dmitriyev said, “We will soon meet with Musk on this issue. We believe Musk is a unique leader dedicated to advancing humanity.”
On February 21, Putin ordered Gazprombank, one of the country’s largest banks, to cooperate with businessman Musk.
